SIGHTSEEING - 100 YEAR OLD MARKET

Along the highway, Jub came up with the idea to show us a so called 100 year old market....oh i juz loved walkin around markets, had so much fun durin last year's Bali trip, haha rmb how many kinds of markets we've been to YCH?? and ended up buyin nonsense (haha, the rattan bag i got for my mum still has tat smell).

Its nice lookin around but i realli must say this, dressed up in ur formal attire and walkin under the bright sunny day is a torture!!! Not even 5 mins i'm all wet but being a camwhore (haha, learn this from Vic), juz couldnt stop takin pictures.

Even the kids look happier, ych mayb we shud come here or Bhutan la....

Pass by this stall which sells some icy stuffs, wonder what it is, went to ask the lady but she couldnt understand what i was tryin to say and then Jub came up and told me its ice coconut, offering to get me one to try, how could i reject food!! Paradise when it first touches my tastebuds, the coolin sensation is juz what i needed most at hot times like this, simple lookin yet miraculously refreshing, the ice is blended so smooth with the taste of the coconut flesh topped with some nuts, a great way to cool off the heat and it onli cost u 10 BAHT (1 Ringgit by the way).

As we walked on, we came into this very old lookin house, open up like museum for ppl to visit, according to Jub, this used to be owned by a Chinese buisnessman and after his death, the house is left down to his daughter where later the house is open up for tourist.

The entire prototype of the market

Antique Electrolux fridge, u dare to keep ur food inside??

Hallway

This is where the "good deed" happens, hehe

Dunno what room is this but looks like some dance hall

Antique TV, someone might juz crawl out from the screen

I see Ah Kay and myself sittin those chairs durin our retirement days at "lao ren chun"

Sightseeing always used up alot of energy, obviously it is time for some lunch!!! Jub say she will bring us try this thai local food, its rice wrap in lotus leaf. At first glance, its juz looks like the glutinous rice wrapped in lotus leaf we eat sometimes during CNY, but once in the mouth, all flavours came out.....okla, i'm already out of food critic puns, in conclusion I like it, haha.

Dont judge by its cover

This could be on par with babi guling ych......

The sausages they put in the lotus leaf rice

Need to digest abit the food so we walked on for a while before settin off. Markets anywhere besides the ones in Msia are juz far more interestin, ok i noe i'm being bias being brought up in Msia myself obviosly the things in pasar malam doesnt fancy me, but then again wat is so great about the Cheras pasar malam??? Vic i noe u like the smelly beancurd, mentionin this hopefully will make u miss it even more (and so u'll come bek more often, heheheh) and ych, haha i oledi tried the tofu, actualli it juz taste smelly and bitter, without the chilli sauce to accompany it, its realli juz too "jian4" even for oky i tink.
